We will stay in 倶知安町 until in the middle of October.

Hi Rachael,

Thanks for the message. We actually just received one of our larger gluten-free shipments – pasta, cookies, crackers, a range of cereals, and of course gluten-free bread. We’ll have them here at the J-Sekka Cafe and at the Landmark Deli all season.
If you’re looking for gluten-free here it’s best to look at health-food shops and import sites. AliShan http://www.alishan.jp/jp takes orders in English and Japanese. グルーテンフリー or グルーテンが入っていない is what you are probably looking for.

Wheat-intolerance is not nearly as widespread an issue here as it is the West, which accounts for the need to import cereals etc. Some manufacturers are coming around though, and each year we get a few more possibilities.

Would love to help you find suitable ingredients if you stop in at the cafe or deli – hopefully cut down on some of the pre-sending you need to do!
