Born in 1978. Hiroshi Takeda is an artist based in an atelier called atta near Sapporo Station. He works mainly on paintings as well as makes three-dimensional pieces and installations from the basis for the paintings.
Born in 1974 in Moseushi, Hokkaido. Graduated from CAI Art School in 1999. With a theme “Visualization of the momentum”, he creates artworks that combine various aspects such as manga, calligraphy and music. While showing momentary performances in live by spraying Sumi ink from the iron-made brush, he also explores three dimensional installation pieces with the use of onomatopoeia from manga.
An urushi formative artist. Born in 1981 in Hokkaido. She creates sculptural pieces based on a traditional technique of lacquer called “kanshitsu”. She challenges to approach to space and scenes where become integrated with “architecture, urushi, and human” with a theme of the relationship between inside and outside.
Wabisabi was established by Ryohey “wabi” Kudow and Kazushi “sabi” Nakanishi in 1999. Their product ranges from advertising, graphic design, object, films and many kinds of works.
Their past awards includes a Silver Prize of the 85th NY-ADC (New York Art Directors Club) Awards, New Comer Prize of JAGDA (Japanese Graphic Designers Association) Awards, International Poster Triennial Toyama Gold Prize, Grand Prize and Second Grand Prize of SADC (Sapporo Art Directors Club) and many more. They are also members of the design compan Deza-in.
Born in Sapporo in 1977. After graduated from Department of Sculpture at Tama Art University, he started to work based in Tobiu Art Community in Shiraoi-cho from 2002. In recent years, he creates a wide range of artworks including wooden sculptural pieces and installations. He mainly focuses on presenting his works worldwide at both solo and group exhibitions such as a solo exhibition in Hong Kong “RAINY DAYS”, group exhibition in Shanghai “Essence of the Snow Country”, and “RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL 2010 in EZO”. He also involves in planning various art related events and exhibitions as a part of works at Tobiu Art Community.
